Lies

"You can write that down in your book in great big letters. The only way you can control anybody is to lie to them." -- L. Ron Hubbard, "Technique 88"

How can we believe ANYTHING said by a scientologist when they preach and practice things like this?!

Been working late and almost missed your question. I see the pig and one of his piglets have slimed in with their twisted thoughts. (Like this slime theme!) I like the 88 Nazi thing! Hi-el Hulett/ Too bad we won't be seeing much more of you! How do you like to put it... "You don't want me to exist!" You got it! Not on this Askearth! Your lies and disruptions are coming to an end! Since the creation of Golddigger and that ruse, you were warned over and over and over to cool it. You told me once that you would do anything that the Askearth programming would allow. (Excuse for self rating) The programming is changing isn't it! Squeal till squash seeds shoot out of all of your bodily orfices! It won't help a bit! I'll close any question you or your crud helpers ask! And there is more to come. Lets see, you have 30+ F ratings by irritated members. This will complete your rating experiment! What will happen when the rating evaluations resume? We have never had a member loathed to the point of getting 30 Fs! You are truly an Askearth legend! Bye leonh, your memory will forever linger, like a foul stench, in the AE archives!

Sow Belly, I hope you will excuse my harsh comments. Might not get another chance to say good bye to my ol bud leonh!

5 years ago Asker replied: Looks like you got hit again tonight as well! I'd say we are dealing with jr. Mafia wannabies. It's difficult to say anything good about them at this point other than they have self terminated their participation on Askearth. Sorry you and the kid got hit by these slime.

What the hell is this "Biker Pagen" shit? Some of the nicest people you will ever meet ride! They would do anything for anybody at the drop of a hat! They are real people not a bunch of fakes that don't belive in God! You are very much out of line to say such a thing!

Sorry Sow Belly had to get this out.

maybe it's a statement against lying and trying to control others.

5 years ago Commented: Browser, "Smart"! One would have to read the whole content to see the truth. Try not to be BA's or his flunky junior DC's next victim. Very few can deal with these two's attacks as well as Leonh does. A few other AE members just remain quiet and others go along with these attacks to either remain on AE or are just to scared to deal with them. Leonh is not basically being attacked for what he believes in, but is being attacked for his intelligence, strength and integrity. The cowards of the world target individuals with these traits. I accuse BA and DC of being these type of cowards. What Sow Belly wrote is pure slander and was intended only to slander. There is no truth in what was written.

5 years ago Commented: For those wanting context, I have found what seems to be the relevant text, but anybody with a more authoritative, fuller, or different version, speak up (Leon? You have displayed a great knowledge of Scientology and seem likely to me to have access to the text).

The Technique 88 text:
link

Here's what the context tells me.

Interesting - it is very poorly written (or very well), particularly in the intermixing of 2nd and 3rd person, such as this slightly longer extract:

"That person who is trying to control you is lying to you. He's got to tell you lies in order to continue control, because the second you start telling anybody close to the truth, you start releasing him and he gets tougher and tougher to control. So, you can't control somebody without telling them a bunch of lies."

While this begins in the guise of illustrating a technique that might be used by a third party (probably organised religion as is stated further down - isn't Scientology an organised religion by the way?), it concludes by instructing the reader that for them to control another, they must lie continually.

Even more interesting is the closing section, where Hubbard indicates that such a scheme of deceit is doomed to failure!

5 years ago Commented: For ReveurGAM:

I think the point is that the Hubbard text is intentionally ambiguous in order to provide that wonderful concept of "deniability". That it should be so, to me, indicates either a very poor command of English on the part of the author, or an intention to make it just as ambiguous as it is. As I said, it is either very poorly written, or very well.

Also, I would be interested to know why you think the text I posted is not substantially complete, and how broad a context you would find acceptable for your analysis. Granted, the initial posting may have been susceptible to multiple interpretations due to its fragmentary nature; the larger piece I posted is inherently ambiguous in any context.

"Oh, what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive." ?

I could be an Orthodox Jew, and still be what GOD made me to be: a perfect specimen of a HUMAN BEING, with all of its built in faults failings.

You can believe anything you want, trust whom you want, as far as you can throw them. I would even trust some things that a drunk in a cardboard box in the Bronx said. It all depends on your trust in yourself and GOD.

Don't get worked up over someone's personal sex habits, personal religion, or personal voting policies.
5 years ago Commented: p.s. it is an ATTEMPT to control. They themselves are so out of control. Never put all your eggs in one basket. Get many opinions from many sources. Take what you like and leave the rest. We can go from grandma to A.A.
5 years ago Asker replied: Huh? Please read my above reply to the confused Punk guest!

Scientologists are most definitely NOT Christians. Certainly not leonh and his Islamic helper. I have heard ANY religion, including those that worship Satan, might sign up for this shame cult. How can a religion not have a God? A cult doesn't need a god.
5 years ago Commented: That's why I take lots of their stuff with a grain of salt. I could choose biker pagans to idolize and follow their trains od thought. People with no God are a sorry lot.
5 years ago Asker replied: I really don't care about their "beliefs" one way or the other. People have a right to believe what they wish.... but not at other's expense! Disrupting and vandalizing this website! Trying to recruit for their cult! Using it as a training simulator! Trying to take it over or destroy it! That is organized crime, not a religion. Mafia must be a valid religion if they are.
5 years ago Commented: This is you, DAZ? That's what some other punkrockavatar says. It matters not to me. But...knowing a teensy bit about Dianetics, and a bit more about the Mafia, and a whole lot more about my being a Methodist, makes me think of the Jehovah's Witnesses who have to go begging people om their doorsteps to try to persuade them. some people do use the KKK even, as a "religion".
All we can do is not feed into it and like Desiderata.. go placidly amid this mess they make.

ReveurGAM (B-)
5 years ago Commented: First of all, I have to state I'm not associated with Scientology. I am eclectic - I tell my ESL students, sometimes, that my religion is "mixed" which baffles them. I have never read anything by Hubbard or anything on Scientology other than what I've seen here on AE so I'm a bit in the dark.

Second, I have to ask that you refrain from associating Islam with Scientology. They are separate religions and, seeing as my wife's entire family is Islamic - and wonderful people - I do not appreciate you making such a comment. It is spurious and unnecessary. If I have misunderstood the intention of your comment then I apologize and ask for clarification.

Finally, I looked at the link that Xarqi posted. Based on my understanding of English it looked to me like the author was explaining a technique (lying) used to control and manipulate people. Unfortunately, whether or not the text was a technique the author was advocating or just explaining was unclear because the complete text was absent - in fact the quotation itself was incomplete. If you have a link to the entire text I would be willing to take a look at it and let you know whether the technique is one that was written as a technique to be used or one that was being discussed - or, perhaps, a warning. Without being able to see the full text or a preface to the section dealing with techniques it is not possible to know the context of what we're discussing. Can you (or anyone else) assist me with this? This is about the only thing I can do to make this issue you've presented clear to anyone reading this posting of yours. I apologize if that's inadequate.

Leon Hulett (B-)
5 years ago Commented: I think this is a troll question.

Please quote an exact book and context like a page number so we can look for ourselves.

I think you are maliciously quoting this author out of context.

Is there any doubt any dictator in history told lies to control people? And is there any doubt that any author on such topics would use these words? in certain context. I'll bet this author is saying how you straighten it out rather than how it is done. It is certainly not in the context of how anyone should conduct their lives.

"Sow Belly" chose my Pig Avatar for a reason I think.

Let's take a look at the real context.

5 years ago Asker replied: I'm asking the question. To you and your scum followers, if you spam this question, I will keep reposting it until you die of old age!

My friends got burned by your refuse last night. I see your rating profile expresses the general confidence and approval of you.

Since you are a Scientologist, tell us what "technique 88" is all about. The number 88 is well know as code for "Hi-el Hitler" for Nazi.

5 years ago Commented: I gather from your manner that your name is "Francois Tremblay" when you write elsewhere.

I am not associated with your list of six below in any other capacity than answering questions as anyone else does here on AE. The only reference to religion I have ever heard from any of them publically or privately, is one reference to "buddhist".

I have taken the brunt of things in the last 24 hours, by receiving probably over 40 Fs at this point. Can you point out one "F" I ever gave in over two years on AE to any member that identified himself and did not make malicious and alarming, slanderous statements to me from hiding? Notice that I never gave an F to members that did do this, just the false ones that wouldn't face me and say it. I offered to remove the F if they merely identified themselves.

As you know, AE is open to people of all religions and Atheists as well. They all are generally made welcome. I haven't had the opportunity to welcome you, so I will now. Welcome. (I dont' agree with many of your views, but that is another matter. Please feel welcome to be here.)

If you would like to cool down the fire some, I would like to help.

You have asked me [tell us what "technique 88" is all about].

With your permission, I would like to do this now.

In Christendom one could do many things to learn about God and Christ. So we could lump all of these things together, and say all of these things as a group are the "techniques" that a Christian has available in their religion to learn about God and Christ. Such things might include; reading the Bible, prayer, going to church, etc.

Now in the world of Atheism you have written many papers and I don't really have much knowledge of that, but I understand one could lump all of these things that all people have written and thought about together, and that might be called the "techniques" of Atheism

Overall "technique 88" has to do with the human spirit.

Each of the "8"s comes from the idea of infinity and the symbol for it when you place it on its side. Can you visualize this part, I don't know how to make this infinity symbol in this text processor?

The first "8" stands for all of the things one could possibly do to help improve the spirit. This would include things that haven't been dreamed up yet. The idea is to just lump them all together in this way. Things that help something else and not the spirit, would not be included.

The second "8" has to do with all the things one might handle relative to the spirit. If we were talking about taking out the "trash" then taking the bag out to the road would be "something we could do" and would be in the first "8" pile for trash. But each of the cans, or crusts of bread that would be what one was taking out or in the second pile. So if a spirit had made a bad decision somewhere, then when he corrected that, then that "bad" decision would be something in this second "8" pile. All of the lies he told would be in this pile.

"Technique 88" deals with the "spirit" only.

"Technique 80" would be the "body" only.

OK? Sorry to be so long winded, but I thought you might like to know this.

So in the context of your question here, the second "8" has to do with all the possible "lies" that the spirit has told himself and others to control them. And as xarqi pointed out, control them in a degrading way. So the first "8" is all the "methods" that could apply when a spirit wishes to regain his integrity and resolve all the "lies" in the second pile.

As you can clearly see, this definition has nothing to do with your definition.

Scientology does include "God" as well as the "spirit" and "body". It is not Atheistic.

5 years ago Commented: I think we can address the problem without another series of public posts. I encourage the people who received the malicious F's from the party in question to join me in a positive approach from now on, to the extent human nature in the face of an assault allows. I got hit too, but I choose not to let the jerks mess up the daily workings of the site.

That said, I hope you will withdraw the post and focus your energy in a way that doesn't stir the pot.
5 years ago Asker replied: Several members, including you as the worst hit, were F burned by well known Scientology guises last night. The rest of us may be next. Leon is the senior instigator that remains as crews of scientologist are changed out every couple of months. I think this quote is all about their lies and slanders. I think this question should stay as a public notice and warning, as well as to hear some opinions and a few lies as well. Peace is good. They are strife.

I sincerely wish I could do something to repair what they did last night. I also don't want this SLIMED over by the scum that did it!

We hold you responsible Leonh... no matter how much you lie and evade that you had any thing to do with it. You brought them in or else they ARE you.

5 years ago Commented: I am busy with other matters on AE tonight, so I don't have sufficient time to get into this, but as one of those most affected by the latest barrage I can say that I am still standing and I can handle it. This is not to say that I wasn't assisted by the outpouring of support, but I think we can handle it without giving him yet another podium to sling mud at people.

The designers of this site were too trusting, and a few bad eggs took advantage of it. They see what has been done, and they are making changes. I realize other people who got random F's for no reason are angry but jerks happen and we are gradually getting better at sending them packing without having a shoot-out on main street.

Sociopaths know how to be slick and charming and lie very convincingly. If you let them get your goat they fool more people because it makes you look like the nut. We know who is responsible and we know what has to be done. Give us time to do it. Nailing the last guy took months but he is in serious hot water now, and like the current guy, I imagine he is wondering if he shouldn't have heeded the numerous friendly advisories that were sent his way. If he hasn't, I imagine he will. So keep your sense of humor, OK?
5 years ago Asker replied: I'm glad to see you aren't taken aback by this attack. Your supporters have about pushed the attackers off your profile. The attackers were

gipsy
truth finder
superstar
Mrsuper human
mightypower
Running Guy

That would be the AE equivalent of assualting a police officer - with an organization... Organized crime right here on AE! Sounds like an FBI case!

These are all known scientologist guises that associated with leonh. So you took F rating from this bunch and have enough supporters A s to about clear them. Leonh has 1 A from truthfinder (a self rate?) to counter what, about 30 F ratings from your supporters.

All this happening without messing up the questions on the boards. You are right, things are a changing!
